Swix T157B Brush rectangular Horsehair

The SWIX T157B Rectangular Horsehair Brush is a hand brush for preparing ski and snowboard bases. This rectangular horsehair brush is intended for final brushing within an appropriate waxing sequence. The manufacturer describes it, among other uses, for finishing TSP powder waxes. Its role depends on the waxing sequence and the condition of the glide surface.

Bristles and intended use

• Bristles: horsehair.
• Specified bristle diameter: approximately 0.15 mm.
• Hand-held base brush.

The bristle diameter describes the thickness of the individual fibres or wires rather than the external width of the brush. Choose the tool for the wax and preparation step. A cleaning brush and a fine polishing brush perform different tasks.

Brush in a controlled way

Secure the ski or snowboard with the base easy to reach. Brush with controlled pressure and remove loosened wax particles from the working area regularly. Follow the recommended sequence for the products being used and inspect the surface as you work.

Afterwards, remove wax residue and dirt from the brush. Store it dry and without keeping the bristles bent or compressed. Keep brushes for dirty residue separate from those used for clean finishing. Inspect the working surface before the next application so that old residue is not transferred onto a freshly prepared base. Maintain the brush according to its particular material and intended use.
