Speedmachine J2 schwarz-grau-rot

A simple two-buckle boot for young children

The Nordica Speedmachine J2 in black, grey and red is a junior boot for young children practising their first turns or skiing with the family. Two aluminium buckles keep the closure simple while securing the foot and cuff. Its neutral stance is designed to support balance on skis. A soft Comfort Fit liner provides warmth and comfort, and the accessible opening makes getting the boots on and off easier before and after a day on the mountain.

Key details

  • Manufacturer's stated flex rating: 45
  • Junior volume for young skiers
  • Two aluminium buckles
  • Comfort Fit liner
  • Triax shell and cuff with 5355 PU soles

Choosing a size and caring for the boot

Choose the size around the child's actual foot and check the fit with ski socks. The heel should stay secure while the boot feels comfortable when the knees bend. Let the child practise opening and closing the buckles before a lesson. Check the fit regularly as feet grow, and have the boot and binding combination checked by a ski shop. After skiing, open the buckles, air the liner and clear snow and dirt from the soles.

Size help

Find my boot size

Measure both feet and use the manufacturer chart for this model. Length, width and volume all affect the fit.

Measure children’s feet afresh and use the appropriate manufacturer chart. Sizing up for growth may compromise support.

A reviewed size recommendation is not yet available for this model. Use the measuring guide to prepare, then ask our team for help choosing.

Check when trying on

  • Try both boots with the socks you will wear when skiing.
  • Check heel hold and pressure points in your skiing stance. Pain or numbness is not a suitable fit.
  • For a difficult fit, a personal fitting and boot fitting service can help.

Measure both feet

Place your heel against a wall and measure to the longest toe. Measure each foot separately.
  1. Place paper against a wall and stand on it with one heel touching the wall.
  2. Put weight on the foot, bend your knee slightly and mark your longest toe. Measure from the wall to the mark in millimetres.
  3. Repeat for the other foot. Note both lengths and, if needed, the width at the widest part of each forefoot.

Three different measurements

Foot length · mm
The measured distance from your heel to your longest toe. Your two feet may have different lengths.
Mondopoint · MP
A sizing system based on foot length, usually shown in centimetres for ski boots. Use the chart for the exact model.
External sole length · mm
The outside length of the shell used for binding adjustment. Read it from the boot. It is neither foot length nor Mondopoint size.
