Skylotec Climbing Technology Tondo SG

The Skylotec Tondo SG is an HMS carabiner with a manually operated screwgate. Its generous internal shape provides space for suitable belay devices and rope handling. It is intended for sport climbing, alpine climbing and mountaineering where the specific application follows the manufacturer's instructions. Blue and Mustard colours are available in the shop. This offer includes one carabiner in the selected colour.

The hot-forged aluminium body uses a profiled construction with rounded rope-contact surfaces. A catch-free nose reduces snagging when clipping and unclipping. Gate opening is 23 millimetres, and external dimensions are 105 × 73 × 17 millimetres. Skylotec specifies breaking strengths of 24 kilonewtons on the major axis, ten kilonewtons across the minor axis and seven kilonewtons with the gate open. Classification is Type H under EN 12275 and Type B under EN 362.

Choose the carabiner to suit the device, rope and intended connection. Follow its instructions and check that the screwgate is fully closed before each use. Inspect movement, gate return and loading direction. Avoid unfavourable cross-loading from other equipment. Check the body for notches, sharp edges, deformation and wear. Clean and store it according to the manufacturer's guidance and have damaged equipment assessed professionally.
