La Sportiva - Tarantula Boulder

The La Sportiva Tarantula Boulder in Metal/Sunset is a climbing shoe for getting started with indoor climbing and bouldering. The version offered here belongs to reference ZFCS143G17R19. Its neutral shape and relatively soft construction are intended for climbers learning movement on the wall and looking for an adjustable design. Assess the actual fit on your own feet rather than assuming one shape suits everyone.

Two opposing hook-and-loop straps allow quick adjustment and removal between attempts. The upper uses suede leather, with lining in the front section. A 1.1 mm LaSpoFlex midsole is combined with a 4 mm FriXion Black outsole. The split sole supports sensitivity and makes later resoling easier. A rubber toe cap and shaped heel are designed to support toe hooks and heel hooks during bouldering.

Try both shoes and check toe position, heel hold and fit while placing weight through the foot. Tighten the straps evenly without attempting to force the fit through excessive tension. Air the shoes after use and dry them away from direct heat. Remove dirt from contact surfaces and inspect sole wear regularly. Professional resoling can be worthwhile before the surrounding rand rubber wears through. Select size with the particular model, your foot shape and your experience in mind.
