Edelrid Pure Screw III

The Edelrid Pure Screw III is a compact aluminium carabiner with a manually operated screw closure. Its offset D shape suits different connection tasks within the climbing and mountaineering applications specified by the manufacturer. The Keylock nose makes clipping and unclipping easier by avoiding a projecting hook. Selectable colours can also help you distinguish individual carabiners within your equipment.

An H-profile construction makes efficient use of material while keeping the weight at approximately 50 grams. Made from 7075 T6 aluminium, the carabiner measures 97 by 60 millimetres. Edelrid specifies a major-axis breaking strength of 22 kilonewtons for the Pure Screw III. The screw sleeve must be closed and checked by hand; this is not an automatically locking closure. Suitability for a particular connection depends on the complete instructions and the other equipment involved.

Before each use, inspect the body, gate and screw sleeve for damage, dirt and correct operation. Observe the intended loading direction and confirm that the closure is fully secured. Clean and store the carabiner following Edelrid instructions. Appropriate training and regular equipment inspections are essential when selecting and using connectors for climbing and mountaineering.
