Blue Ice Pick Protector Ice Axe Pick Cover

The Blue Ice Pick Protector is a light cover for the pick of an ice axe or ice tool. The blue TPU cover is held on the tool by an adjustable elastic cord. It covers the sharp pick during transport and helps avoid contact with other equipment. Manufacturer reference 100091 identifies the pick cover, which is distinct from the separate adze or shaft-spike protectors.

Selection and use

Before transport, check that the cover fully receives the pick tip and that the elastic cord can be tensioned appropriately. Check the actual fit when using an axe from another brand. The pick and the spike at the lower end of the shaft are different areas; this protector is intended for the pick. Remove it before climbing or using the tool and stow it where it will not be lost.

Care and inspection

Gently remove dirt and ice and let the protector dry. Regularly inspect the TPU cover, elastic cord and attachment for cracks or wear. Replace it if damaged; this is a transport cover, not a load-bearing protection component.
