Description
The pocket knife N°08 is a must-have.
This knife is a classic among classics and has pleased for over 130 years.
The N°08 is the most popular in the collection.
The knife is extremely versatile and an indispensable everyday tool.
It features a stainless steel blade.
The varnished beechwood handle ensures secure and comfortable holding.
The Virobloc safety ring allows the user to move and work with the knife safely.

Sandvik stainless steel 12C27
Modified Sandvik stainless steel 12C27 was adjusted for Opinel and is known for its sharpness and easy maintenance.
The stainless steel underwent a heat treatment called martensite, giving it a very high lifespan.
The carbon content is at least 0.40%, achieving very satisfactory sharpness while not creating corrosion sensitivity.
Blade hardness 57-59 HRC.

Yatagan blade
The traditional Opinel blade is called Yatagan.
The shape is inspired by a Turkish saber with a raised tip.
The blade was ground to an exclusive, curved profile and guarantees robustness and easy resharpening.

Handle
Beech is the most commonly used wood for making Opinel knife handles.
The beechwood comes from France, is hard, resistant, and easy to work with.
It has a homogeneous appearance and the light color varies from yellowish to rosy. The wood is recognized by the many small dark stripes.
The handle is varnished for better protection against moisture and dirt.

Safety ring
The Virobloc safety ring was invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel.
It is present on all folding knives from model N°06 onwards.
The Virobloc is cut from stainless steel and consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part.
In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safe use), it's now also possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safe transport).

Shipping & advice

In-stock items usually ship from our warehouse within 1 to 3 working days. If the item is in stock in one of our stores, you can also pick it up there free of charge. In Pfronten this also works for items that are only in stock in Ronsberg: we bring them over, which usually takes 2 to 4 days. The pickup note above and the checkout show where and when you can pick up. Skis with binding mounting take a little longer: we mount them carefully and let you know as soon as your set is on its way. Personal advice is available by appointment in our store in Ronsberg. Details in our shipping policy.

We refund the purchase price of the items minus a 5 € return fee (6.90 € from abroad); you receive the return label from us. Skis mounted according to your details are excluded from exchange.
