Edelrid Ohmega

The OHMEGA is designed for use indoors and on rock as well as on alpine sport climbing routes (with single rope).
Whether 5a or 9b, this belay device makes life easier for beginners, experienced climbers, and pros alike, as well as rope teams with and without weight differences.
Because with the integrated Dyneema® sling, you can set three braking levels in one quick move depending on weight distribution.
The integrated carabiner reduces friction that occurs at the first quickdraw compared to using an express sling, so you barely feel the OHMEGA even on long and difficult routes while climbing or clipping.
With the short Dyneema® sling and resulting minimal activation distance, the belayer can more easily belay dynamically and smoothly, reducing the risk of impact injuries.
In a fall, the cam brakes the fall and supports the belayer.
In case of weight difference, this is compensated by the additional braking effect. This prevents the belayer from being pulled upward uncontrollably or against the wall in a large fall.
In ground-level falls, the OHMEGA reduces both the risk of climber collision and the risk of groundfall through its braking effect.
The OHMEGA also reliably brakes if the climber falls directly into the device.
EDELRID athlete Tommy Caldwell has already tested the belay device and is convinced: "The OHMEGA is one of the most brilliant products to have come to market in a long time.
It reduces both rope drag when leading and the load caused by weight differences in a rope team.
The device itself weighs barely more than a regular express set.
I've seen many accidents that could have been prevented by using the OHMEGA. After the first try, it's also clear how simple it is to use.
It wouldn't surprise me if the OHMEGA becomes the standard in the climbing community."
