Ass Savers MFR-1 Mudder, Schutzblech Vorne

The Ass Savers Mudder Regular MFR-1 is a compact mudguard for a mountain bike's front suspension fork. Its main purpose is to intercept forward-thrown dirt that might impair your view. The short shape does not provide the all-round wet-weather coverage of a full-length mudguard. Several colours and printed designs are offered as shop variants.

Exact manufacturer specifications are 237 × 154 mm, an 18 g weight and 0.8 mm polypropylene. This distinguishes the material from polyethylene and the size from the smaller Mudder Mini models. It attaches with cable ties at a suitable fork bridge. The manufacturer lists standard suspension forks with 26 to 29 inch wheels; forks with an inverted bridge are not intended to accept it without modification.

Read the folding and fitting instructions before installation. The scored lines establish the shape, while front flaps fold towards the tyre according to available clearance. Check clearance during steering and fork movement, including space around hoses and other components. The guard must not rub on the tyre. Recheck attachment after the first ride and regularly afterwards. Remove dirt gently and replace damaged or heavily creased parts. Have compatibility assessed if your fork bridge differs from the intended arrangement.
