Scarpa Instinct VS, black

The black Scarpa Instinct VS is a climbing shoe for sport routes and bouldering. A single hook-and-loop strap secures its microfibre upper. The construction combines support under the forefoot with a more flexible rear section, while the rubber-covered heel and toe area provide useful contact surfaces for different hooking techniques.

Selection and use

Your foot shape and climbing preferences determine the right size. Try both shoes and check heel and toe fit under climbing-style loading. Aim for precise contact without choosing severe painful pressure as a fitting goal. The strap makes it easy to take the shoes off between attempts. The firmer XS Edge rubber under the forefoot is particularly relevant if you value support on small edges.

Care and checks

Air the shoes and let them dry after climbing. Gently remove dirt, and avoid leaving them damp in a closed bag. Inspect the outsole for wear. Having a suitable specialist assess resoling before the rubber is excessively worn can help keep the shoes in use for longer.
