Salewa Hiking Gaiter

The Salewa Hiking Gaiter is a black hiking gaiter that covers the junction between walking boot and trouser leg. It helps keep moisture and dirt away from this area on wet trails or in damp grass. This earlier Hiking version uses 150D polyester mini ripstop and has a Hypalon strap that passes beneath the boot to secure it.

Selection and use

Choose the height to suit your boots, trousers and the area you want covered. The M and L versions differ substantially in height. Fit the gaiter over the boot collar and adjust the underfoot strap so that it holds securely without restricting movement. Before setting off, check both sides and the fastening beneath the sole. These specifications describe the Hiking version with a height of 31 or 41 cm.

Care and checks

Remove surface dirt gently and let the gaiters dry completely after use. Check the underfoot strap and fastenings regularly, particularly after walking over sharp stones. Store the gaiters dry and follow the care label when cleaning them. Correct adjustment protects the junction between boot and trouser leg and keeps loose parts from interfering with your stride.
