How your workshop appointment works
Boot on, show the spot, adjust.
The time is reserved for you, with our bootfitter in the workshop in Ronsberg. What can be done right away, we do right away.
Please come in person. We can't widen without your foot: we check the spot on your foot before and after we work.
-
First
Show us where it pinches
You put the boot on and show us the spot. We look at your foot, boot and footbed and mark what bothers you.
-
Then
Adjust
What can be done right away, we do right away, for example widening the shell at one or two spots. Then you try it on again straight away.
-
If needed
Your boot stays with us
Some shells have to stay clamped overnight. Then you pick up the boot a few days later or we send it to you. Bigger jobs only with your okay.
-
At the end
Your fit pass
You take a card with you. It says what we did, what comes next and how to book the follow-up check.
Frequently asked questions
What you want to know beforehand.
Do I have to wait while you widen the boot?
You do have to come in, because we can't widen without your foot. Whether you take the boot home right away depends on the plastic of the shell: some can be widened in half an hour, others spring back and stay clamped overnight. Then you pick up the boot a few days later or we send it to you. If you enter make and model in the fit check, we can tell you beforehand.
Can I bring boots I bought somewhere else?
Yes, bring them along. Whether a boot can sensibly be adjusted, we see on the boot itself, and if it can't, we tell you. The 25 € credit only applies when you buy a boot from Sport Schindele.
Do you also do hiking and mountain boots?
Yes, in summer that's our main focus. Leather can be stretched, and we fit footbeds just like in a ski boot. Book the workshop appointment for this.
What can really be changed on a ski boot?
More than most people think: the width at the forefoot, the room at the ankle, the heel hold, the volume at the instep, cuff and forward lean. Material and size set the limits. A boot that is clearly too big or too short won't become one that fits, and we tell you that before we start.
What does it cost?
Both appointments cost 50 € for 45 minutes and are paid when you book. If you buy a ski boot from us, half of it is credited, so 25 €. That applies to both appointments, and we deduct the amount at the till. The workshop appointment includes small adjustments; if your boot can't sensibly be adjusted, you get the amount back. Footbeds, materials and bigger workshop jobs are only added if you have agreed beforehand.
What if it still hurts on the piste?
Then come back. Ski for two to three days, note where and when it bothers you, and book a follow-up check with the number on your fit pass. Please don't grit your teeth for weeks.
