Your foot understood.
Your ski boot adjusted.
A real boot workshop, modern foot analysis and precise handwork, so your ski boot fits.
It starts with your foot
Your foot, the footbed, the liner and the shell. Our two bootfitting experts bring them together: with a precise foot analysis, experience and our own boot workshop in Ronsberg. Ski boots in winter, hiking and mountain boots in summer.

When does a boot fit?
Two feet of the same length can need completely different boots. It depends on how foot, footbed, liner and shell work together, and on what you use the boot for.
26 bones, 33 joints and hardly any padding in between. Length is only the start: instep height, heel shape, forefoot width and the difference between left and right decide which shell is even an option. In a ski boot your shin leans forward, and the foot is loaded differently than when you stand.
We measure both feet, standing and under load.
Pressure builds where bones sit right under the skin and meet a shell that doesn't give. These are the eight spots we see most often in the workshop. If the foot slides or the arch drops, exactly these points move against the shell.
We look for the cause, not just the spot: it's often one layer further down.
Under load the arch drops, the heel bone tilts inward and the foot gets longer and wider. Then ankle, navicular and toes move exactly where the shell doesn't give. A well-fitted footbed supports the arch and guides the heel, so the foot stays in its neutral position.
We fit with SIDAS and print with moxxis.
The liner cushions and transmits your movement. With heat it moulds to your foot. After many ski days it packs out, and the boot feels bigger.
We mould, pad and stitch if we have to.
The shell sets the shape. If length and volume are basically right, it can be widened exactly where needed or ground out from the inside. If they aren't, no liner in the world will help.
We check with a shell fit test and widen with lasts, press and grinder.
A piste boot can fit tighter than a touring boot you climb a thousand metres in. Flex, walk mode and the time you spend in the boot change what "fits" means.
We ask first how and where you ski.
Our workshop
In Ronsberg we have a complete boot workshop: a finishing machine for grinding and polishing, a stitching machine for leather, and a shelf full of wooden lasts, buckles and cork. This is where shells are widened on the last, liners are reworked and footbeds are fitted by hand. 3D printing with moxxis joins the workshop this season.

The liner is heated in the oven and then moulds to your foot. With most boots you buy from us, that's included anyway. For many feet that's already enough.
A footbed made for your foot. It supports the arch, guides the heel and takes pressure off individual spots. That gives your foot a firm place in the boot.
Widening at one or two spots can often be done while you wait. For more room, we build up a wooden last with cork to your measurements and press it into the heated shell: millimetre work exactly where it hurts. For that the boot stays with us for a few days.
And if it can't be done, we tell you. Not every boot can be made to fit. If it's two sizes too big or the material won't give, you hear it from us before you spend money on adjustments.
From the workshop
This is what bootfitting looks like when heat alone isn't enough. Three real jobs from Ronsberg, photographed in October 2026.

For bigger stretches we trace your feet, take the measurements and build up a wooden last with cork: your outline plus 5 to 6 millimetres, because in the boot you don't stand barefoot but in the liner. The shell goes into the ski boot oven for 15 to 20 minutes, the last is pressed in and stays there for one to three days. Afterwards the shell has room where your foot needs it, and nowhere else.
That's hard to explain on the phone. So we show it to you on the last in Ronsberg.
Footbeds
What suits you depends on your foot, your boot and how you use it, not on the price. We explain the options before anything is made.

Bring what you have

New in the workshop
A liner made of neoprene and merino with pockets at the ankle and in the tongue, filled with a cork compound. It moulds to your foot, and we can add or remove filling until it fits. It's also much more stable and warmer than a foam liner. For feet that don't stay put in any stock liner, and for everyone who wants to ski their boots for many years.
Your consultation
Not a rushed sales chat, but time reserved for you with one of our two bootfitting experts. This is how a consultation for a new boot works.
At a workshop appointment we get to the point faster: look at the foot, look at the boot, mark the spot. What can be done right away, we do right away. What takes longer stays with us, and you pick up the boot or we send it to you.

How do you ski, what bothers you, what have you already tried? We look at your foot, your boot and your current footbeds.
We measure length, width, instep and volume. Then you put your foot in the empty shell: that shows us whether the size is right at all.
What's quick, we do right away. For bigger jobs you get a clear price and a schedule beforehand.
At the end you take a card with you. It says what we did, what comes next and how to book the follow-up check.
Costs
Both appointments have a fixed price and are paid when you book. Anything beyond that we discuss with you before we start. Not afterwards.
All prices include VAT. Sport Schindele sets the rules for the follow-up check before launch.
After the appointment
What fits well in the shop can feel different after three hours on the piste. That's why our bootfitting doesn't end at the shop door. Ski for two or three days. If something still bothers you, come to the follow-up check with your fit pass.

Frequently asked questions
We listen, look at your foot and your boot, measure and do a shell fit test. Then we discuss which adjustment makes sense. Small adjustments we do right away; for bigger ones you get price and schedule beforehand.
If you already have a boot that doesn't fit, book the workshop appointment with our bootfitter (Wednesday afternoon, Thursday, Friday, Saturday morning). If you're looking for a new ski boot, book the consultation with our boot adviser (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday). Both take 45 minutes, and both experts stand in for each other when needed.
Both appointments cost 50 € for 45 minutes and are paid when you book. If you buy a ski boot from us, half of it is credited, so 25 €. That applies to both appointments, and we deduct the amount at the till. The workshop appointment includes small adjustments; if your boot can't sensibly be adjusted, you get the amount back. Footbeds, materials and bigger workshop jobs are only added if you have agreed beforehand.
You do have to come in, because we can't widen without your foot. Whether you take the boot home right away depends on the plastic of the shell: some can be widened in half an hour, others spring back and stay clamped overnight. Then you pick up the boot a few days later or we send it to you. If you enter make and model in the fit check, we can tell you beforehand.
Not necessarily. Many problems start under the foot, but not all. We first look at your current footbeds and only recommend a new one if it really solves your problem.
Yes, bring them along. Whether a boot can sensibly be adjusted, we see on the boot itself, and if it can't, we tell you. The 25 € credit only applies when you buy a boot from Sport Schindele.
Yes, in summer that's our main focus. Leather can be stretched, and we fit footbeds just like in a ski boot. Book the workshop appointment for this.
That's exactly what bootfitting is for. We measure both feet, choose the shell by heel and volume and make room where your foot needs it. What matters is the combination of foot shape, hold and use, not a single number. You don't need to know a last or a method beforehand: in the fit check you simply tick what you know about your feet.
More than most people think: the width at the forefoot, the room at the ankle, the heel hold, the volume at the instep, cuff and forward lean. Material and size set the limits. A boot that is clearly too big or too short won't become one that fits, and we tell you that before we start.
Then come back. Ski for two to three days, note where and when it bothers you, and book a follow-up check with the number on your fit pass. Please don't grit your teeth for weeks.
More than one appointment. Analysis, 3D printing and fitting have their own process: printing takes about two hours, then you pick up the footbed or come in for a fitting. So the 45 minutes of the appointment don't produce a finished footbed yet. We discuss beforehand how much time you need to allow.
