Binding mounting, boot sole length & compatibility
What is needed for binding mounting, and which equipment works together? These answers help you understand the details for your skis.
MountingHow does binding mounting work?
Our workshop mounts the binding to your boot sole length. The skis are not ready to ride.
The binding is adjusted to a sample boot. Sport Schindele does not guarantee correct release. Please have it checked by a specialist retailer before use.
The mounting options available for your skis are shown on the product page and in your cart. Contact our team if you have any questions.
Boot sole lengthWhich boot sole length is needed for mounting?
We need your ski boot sole length in millimetres to mount the bindings. Check the permitted range shown with the mounting option for your product. If you are unsure about the measurement, clarify it with our team before mounting.
Alpine skisWhat matters when choosing bindings?
Skis with system bindings require the intended binding system. For skis supplied without bindings, the ski, binding and boot must work together. Have the specific combination checked before choosing individual components.
Freeride & freestyleCan I use any binding?
No. The ski construction, intended mounting area, binding and boot must work together. If the binding uses a brake, its width must suit the ski. Off-piste use alone does not make a touring binding suitable.
Touring skisWhat needs to match for bindings and skins?
Check the ski, binding and boot specifications for the exact combination. Pin bindings require suitable boot inserts. Skins must match the ski in length, width and attachment; ski crampons must suit the binding system and ski width. Check the product details and clarify any uncertainties before buying.
Junior skisWhat matters for boots and bindings?
Children’s ski boots and bindings must match in sole standard, size range and intended use. Shoe size alone cannot establish compatibility. Our team can check the specific combination with you.
Cross-country skisWhich boots and bindings work together?
The boot sole and binding system must be compatible. An existing mounting plate may also determine the binding choice. Alpine or touring binding guidance does not apply to cross-country skis.
