Selection and use

Try the shoes with the socks you intend to wear. Check that your toes have enough space and that the heel is held comfortably. Walk a few steps and notice any pressure when rolling through the foot or bending. Choose according to the fit and available options rather than assuming different brands use identical sizing.

Care and inspection

After use, remove loose dirt with a soft brush and let the shoes air at room temperature. Follow the care instructions for the particular upper and lining. Regularly inspect the fastenings, stitching and sole tread. Store the shoes clean and dry so their condition is easy to assess before the next outing.
