Hanwag Banks SF Extra GTX mocha asphalt

The men's Hanwag Banks SF Extra GTX in Mocca/Asphalt is a mid-cut hiking boot for day walks and easier trekking routes. Its StraightFit Extra fit provides additional room around the forefoot and big toe. That distinction can help if regular-width hiking boots feel tight in this area, although an individual fitting is still essential.

Leather sections in the upper are combined with a GORE-TEX lining for waterproof, breathable weather protection. A Vibram Trekking SF outsole and a reinforced PU foam wedge in the midsole support cushioning and roll-off. Strong cast-metal lace hooks let you adjust the lacing over the foot and shaft. Internal stitch-and-turn seams complete the construction. The boot is resoleable, allowing the worn outsole to be assessed professionally for replacement later in its life.

Try the Banks with your hiking socks and check that the heel and midfoot are held securely. There should be enough room in front of the toes when walking downhill. Break new boots in on shorter routes and match your trip and pack load to your experience. After hiking, brush dirt from the upper and remove stones from the tread. Dry the pair away from direct heat and use material-appropriate care products following Hanwag's guidance. Check the laces, seams and soles regularly.
