Hanwag Banks Narrow Lady GTX

The Hanwag Banks Narrow Lady GTX is a women's hiking boot with a narrow fit for moderate walks and easier hut-to-hut routes. Reference 203201/007064 identifies the Navy/Asphalt colourway offered here. Its Narrow last is slimmer through the forefoot and midfoot than the regular Banks version and should be assessed in a careful fitting.

The upper combines nubuck leather, suede and textile. GORE-TEX lining provides waterproof and breathable weather protection. A Vibram Endurance Pro outsole and reinforced PU foam wedge complete the construction. Metal lace hooks allow adjustment across the foot and shaft. Internal stitch-and-turn seams are designed for abrasion resistance. Hanwag specifies a reference weight of 1,050 grams per pair in UK size 5. Professional resoling is possible where the overall condition of the boots allows it.

Wear your hiking socks during the fitting and check heel hold and toe clearance when walking downhill. Adjust the laces to your foot and break new boots in on shorter walks before a longer trip. Gently brush away dirt after use and let the open boots dry away from direct radiator heat. Care for the leather according to Hanwag's instructions. Regularly check laces, stitching, tread and fit, particularly before a multi-day walk.
