In a dark camouflage design with blue accents and the “ar MONTERO” print, the Montero AR features a classic sandwich construction with two layers of Titanal, giving the ski stability and power at high speeds. S-shaped cutouts in the Titanal at the tip and tail (FTC – Flex Torsion Control) keep the center of the ski under the binding torsion-free and stiff, while allowing the ends to flex more easily – making it easier to initiate turns without sacrificing precision when edging. The tip rocker (AMR) also provides a little more reserve off-piste.

Description

All-mountain ski · 2026/27 model

The Stöckli Montero AR is the smooth-running all-rounder of the Montero series. Equipped with the composure of a giant slalom ski, it pulls long, powerful turns on the piste and stays remarkably calm even on changeable snow.

In a dark camouflage design with blue accents and the "ar MONTERO" print, the Montero AR relies on a classic sandwich construction with two Titanal layers, which gives the ski smooth running and power at high speed. Thanks to the S-shaped cut-outs in the Titanal at the tip and tail (FTC - Flex Torsion Control), the middle of the ski under the binding stays stiff without play, while the ends flex more easily, which makes turn initiation easier without sacrificing precision in edge grip. The tip rocker (AMR) also provides a few more reserves off the groomed piste.

The technologies in detail

RCR Rocker-Camber-Rocker: the ski's basic profile, with rocker at the tip and tail and camber under the binding for edge pressure and drive from the middle.
AMR All Mountain Rocker: a gently rising tip that gives the ski a little more float off the piste without diminishing its edge performance on hard snow.
Tail Rocker (TR) An extended, flatter rocker in the ski tail makes it easier to finish turns and takes pressure off the edge towards the end of the turn.
FTC Flex Torsion Control: S-shaped cut-outs in the Titanal at the tip and tail that allow a softer flex there. The middle of the ski under the binding stays torsionally stiff, which makes turn initiation easier while ensuring precise edge grip in the centre.
SME Light Slim, weight-optimised metal edge that provides edge grip while keeping the overall weight of the ski low.

Construction & ride

The Montero AR is designed for smooth running and precision at higher speed: the poplar-beech core with two Titanal layers gives the ski stability and rich edge grip, as you know it from a giant slalom ski, while FTC at the tip and tail ensures more approachable turn initiation. With an 84 mm waist width and a radius of around 16 m at medium length, the focus is clearly on groomed pistes and medium to large turn radii, with the light AMR tip rocker still offering reserves on changeable snow off the track. Compared with the stiffer Montero AR Pro, it can be moved more relaxed and with less effort, yet remains clearly sportier than the lighter, more playful Montero AX.

Who it is suitable for

The Montero AR is aimed at advanced to expert skiers who want to carve hard and precisely on the piste and want a ski that stays calm even in changeable conditions and on a skied-out edge beyond the piste marking. It is the ideal all-rounder for anyone who is out on the piste every day but occasionally wants to look at the adjacent terrain, without having to reach for the pure race-ski feel of the AR Pro.

Binding & length: We offer the Montero AR with various Stöckli binding and plate combinations. If you have any questions about the right length or binding choice for your skiing style, just get in touch. We are happy to advise you.
