S/LAB SHIFT² 16 MULTINORM

The Salomon S/Lab Shift² 16 MN brings true downhill performance to a touring binding. The binding delivers power and precision on the biggest lines, but also gives you the freedom you don't want to give up on the climb. With a DIN value of 16 and a reinforced toe and heel area, this uncompromising binding is designed for freeriders who charge every descent, but don't shy away from the climb either.

Weight per unit: 1210 g
Skill level: Advanced, expert
DIN adjustment range: 8-16
Skier weight (min.): 66 kg

Efficient ski guidance

Equipped with Powerblock technology and 16 mm of elastic travel at the heel, this binding offers unparalleled shock absorption and hold, perfect for almost all aggressive descents.

Performance uphill and downhill

Developed for freeriders who make no compromises in downhill performance but don't want to give up touring qualities either: the 1,210-gram binding supports you on the climb while delivering full power on the descent.

Low weight

Every element is geared towards creating the perfect balance of freeride power on the descent and maximum efficiency on the climb.

Binding technologies

Low-profile chassis: Low stand height for better feedback from the terrain and optimised power transmission.

Automatic heel

Easy-to-use climbing aid: The position of the climbing aid can be easily adjusted with the pole.

3-Part Power heel: A reinforced, three-part heel construction with metal lever and 16 mm of travel ensures optimal power transmission and precise control.

Main material

Fibreglass PA: A special fibreglass-reinforced polyamide that makes the binding lighter and more durable while also providing greater ski tolerance.

Aluminium: A stiff and solid construction that enables improved power transmission.

Steel: Extremely stiff, non-deformable material that meets racers' demands for power and precision.

Carbon Loaded™ PA: A very light and resilient alloy of carbon and polyamide meets the requirements for weight saving, extreme durability and stiffness.

Pedal

Power Block AFD: A new, height-adjustable AFD (anti-friction device) with micrometric adjustment and a one-piece aluminium insert that supports the boot and offers 30% more lateral stiffness compared with previous generations.

Free-moving pedal: A special pedal mounted on a spring that allows lateral movement and recentring. This allows any standardised boot to be released from the binding in a sideways fall.

Toe piece

Hybrid toe piece: The high elasticity keeps the boot in the binding even when higher impact forces act on it. Compatible with all standardised boots, without compromising safety or performance.

XL side wings: Long side wings wrap the boot toe perfectly, providing more power transmission and a secure feel in freeride bindings.

Elasticity: Ultimate elasticity of the side wings. Keeps the boot in the binding even when higher impact forces act on it and prevents premature release.

Ski crampon system: Special ski crampons can be mounted on the binding.
