A base layer for grip wax in cold conditions

Swix VG35 Base Binder Green is a base wax for the grip zone of classic cross-country skis. Green version VG035 provides an adhesive foundation beneath the hard grip wax selected for the weather. It is intended for cold conditions from −22°C to −1°C. Transformed, granular or old snow can put extra wear on a wax layer, making a durable base particularly useful.

Apply beneath the chosen grip wax

Rub a thin layer onto the prepared grip zone. Swix describes ironing it in with a waxing iron and smoothing it with a cork. Follow the manufacturer instructions and the requirements of your skis for the preparation process. Once the base has cooled, apply the selected grip wax on top. Choose that upper layer according to temperature, snow type and conditions along the trail.

Keep the application controlled

Keep base and grip wax away from the glide zones. The correct grip-zone length depends on the ski and how it is matched to the skier. Check the ski and wax instructions before your first application. Close the container after use and store it as directed on the label. The version offered here contains 45 g.
