Swix T179O Oval Steel Brush

The Swix T179O is an oval steel hand brush for ski and snowboard base care. It is used as the first brush after waxing and scraping to loosen wax remaining in the base structure. A hand strap helps guide the larger oval brushing surface. Its 0.18mm steel bristles make it a tool for the initial brushing stage before finer brushing and polishing.

Selection and use

Secure the ski or board before working and follow the care sequence for the base and wax being used. Guide the brush in controlled strokes in the working direction, adjusting pressure and stroke count to the result. The manufacturer gives five to six strokes as a guide. Remove loosened residue before continuing with a suitable finer brush.

Care and inspection

Remove wax and dirt from the brush regularly and store it dry. Protect the bristles from deformation and handle the steel brushing surface carefully. Inspect the working surface and hand strap before use. Use the brush only for suitable base-care tasks and keep it clean between stages so old residue is not transferred onto a freshly prepared base.
