Toko Sidewall Planer

TOKO Sidewall Planer is a tool for preparing ski and snowboard edges. This sidewall planer removes obstructing ABS sidewall material to improve access to the steel edge for subsequent filing. Its particular role in edge maintenance determines how it is used and which additional tools are needed.

Work in a controlled way

Set the blade position according to the instructions and remove only the sidewall material required for the edge work. Secure the ski or snowboard in a suitable vise before starting. Clean the contact surfaces so that dirt and metal residue do not interfere with guidance. Inspect the edge during the work and use controlled pressure.

Match the angle and amount of material removed to the existing preparation and the ski manufacturer's guidance. A suitable setting does not replace correct handling of the tool. If you are unsure about the appropriate angle or the condition of the edge, seek an informed assessment before carrying out heavier work.

Care after use

Remove filing dust and residue from the tool and working area. Keep the working surfaces clean and dry and protect them from knocks during storage. Check fastenings and inserts before the next use so that the intended tool guidance is maintained. Choose the sequence of preparation steps for the condition of the particular edge.
