Pieps Shovel T705 Pro

The PIEPS Shovel T705 Pro is an avalanche shovel with a T-grip and telescopic shaft for ski touring and winter trips. PIEPS specifies a total weight of 705 g, comprising a 360 g blade and a 345 g shaft. Its detachable construction makes it easier to pack into a suitable compartment in your backpack.

The blade measures 30.5 × 24.4 × 4.5 cm. Sharpened edges, pronounced ribs and foot grooves form part of its design, together with a special surface coating. The oval shaft helps maintain orientation when holding it, while the T-grip provides a clearly defined handle at the top.

PIEPS gives the shaft length as 72 cm. This figure refers to the shaft, rather than the overall length of the assembled shovel. The Quick-Lock system supports assembly of the shaft and blade. Practise putting the shovel together while wearing gloves and check that it is fully locked before use.

Before a tour, check that both parts are present, undamaged and can be connected without difficulty. Pack the shovel where you can reach it promptly, and allow it to dry after use. Practical instruction and regular training are essential when using avalanche rescue equipment; carrying a shovel does not replace knowledge of tour planning or companion rescue.

In-stock items usually ship from our warehouse within 1 to 3 working days. If the item is in stock in one of our stores, you can also pick it up there free of charge. In Pfronten this also works for items that are only in stock in Ronsberg: we bring them over, which usually takes 2 to 4 days.
