Toko Groove Pin Nordic

The TOKO Groove Pin Nordic is a plastic tool for removing wax residue from the centre grooves of cross-country skis. It extends base preparation to a section that is difficult to reach with a flat scraper blade. This lets you clear excess wax from the groove as part of preparing the ski base for use.

Use when waxing

After hot waxing, scraping and brushing are part of base preparation. TOKO specifies the Groove Pin Nordic for clearing the centre groove. Guide the tool carefully along the groove to remove remaining wax residue. Follow the processing instructions for the wax you are using and the care instructions for your particular skis.

Combine with base preparation

Use an appropriate plexiglass scraper for the flat gliding surfaces, then brush out excess wax. The Groove Pin complements these steps by working on the centre groove. TOKO's 2025/26 Wax and Tuning Guide recommends allowing hot wax to cool for at least one hour at room temperature before scraping. Keep the tool free of wax residue between steps and check its plastic working surfaces for damage before using it again.
