Description

The HOLMENKOL Diamond File Worldcup Medium is a tool for preparing ski and snowboard edges. This 600-grit diamond file is intended for refining and polishing steel edges that have already been sharpened. It is intended for controlled work on the steel edge and can be combined with a file guide suited to the task.

Version and selection

The Worldcup version has a sturdy aluminium plate and a working surface with a high proportion of diamond powder. HOLMENKOL identifies this medium grade as article 24483. Suitable guides listed by the manufacturer are Steel Edge Worldcup, Worldcup File Guide, Profi Edger and Semi Edger.

Before clamping it in place, check that its dimensions and support surface suit the chosen guide. The desired edge angle depends on an appropriate guide and correct handling. The file alone does not determine a universally suitable angle for every ski.

Working on the edge

Secure the ski or snowboard and prepare the working area according to the manufacturer's guidance. Remove obstructing sidewall material where this is necessary for the intended operation. Move the tool along the edge in a controlled manner and inspect the result during the work.

Select the amount of material removal and the sequence of tools for the edge's condition. Coarser preparation may need to be followed by finer filing or polishing. Remove filing dust and metal residue before continuing work on the base. Clean the file after use and store it dry and protected from impacts so that the working surface remains clean for its next use.

Shipping & advice

In-stock items usually ship from our warehouse within 1 to 3 working days. If the item is in stock in one of our stores, you can also pick it up there free of charge. In Pfronten this also works for items that are only in stock in Ronsberg: we bring them over, which usually takes 2 to 4 days. The pickup note above and the checkout show where and when you can pick up. Skis with binding mounting take a little longer: we mount them carefully and let you know as soon as your set is on its way. Personal advice is available by appointment in our store in Ronsberg. Details in our shipping policy.

Statutory warranty rights apply, plus the manufacturer's guarantee where one is granted. You can return unused items within 14 days of receipt; register the return in your customer account. We refund the purchase price of the items minus a 5 € return fee (6.90 € from abroad); you receive the return label from us. Skis mounted according to your details are excluded from exchange.
