With a volume of 40 L and an optimised weight of 2,350 g, the EXPLORE 40 is the perfect companion for long mountain tours and multi-day hut stays. Developed for ski tourers and splitboarders, this backpack offers diagonal and A-frame ski attachment, a helmet holder, two ice axe holders and the ARVA REACTOR system, the most compact and powerful twin-airbag system for maximum safety in the mountains.
Designed for comfort and endurance, the 3D-FIT system provides an individual fit, while the compression straps stabilise the backpack on the descent. The pockets are organised intuitively to give you quick access to your equipment. A separate front pocket is reserved for your safety equipment, a large back zip allows full access to the main compartment, and a bottom compartment lets you grab skins, gloves, crampons or a bottle without taking off the backpack.
Thanks to its 40 L volume, this backpack gives you plenty of space for everything you need for several days in the mountains, from rope, ice axe and a change of clothes to a meal to enjoy at the summit.

As part of our concept for sustainable production, we do everything we can to maximise the lifespan of avalanche backpacks. Changing only the cover means not having to replace the components with the greatest environmental impact: the airbag system, back and shoulder straps.
