Edelrid HMPE Cord Sling 6mm

The Edelrid HMPE Cord Sling 6 mm is a sewn sling with a kernmantle construction. Part of article family 73933, it combines an HMPE core with a tightly braided polyester sheath. The sheath adds abrasion resistance and gives the sling some stiffness, which can help when threading suitable natural anchors. The lengths offered here are 30, 40, 60, 90 and 120 cm. Choose the actual length required by your intended application.

Edelrid specifies a width of 6 mm, a minimum breaking strength of 22 kN and certification to EN 354 and EN 566. These figures do not replace assessment of the complete system. The manufacturer also describes the 30 cm version as suitable for use as a Prusik sling. Suitability of a particular sling, rope and application combination must be assessed using the relevant instructions and appropriate training.

Before each use, inspect the sheath, stitching and identification. Have damaged equipment or equipment with an uncertain history assessed appropriately. Avoid sharp edges, excessive heat and unsuitable chemicals. Follow the supplied instructions for cleaning, storage and retirement.
