Edelrid Boa Gym 9.8mm Oasis

The Edelrid Boa Gym 9.8 mm in Oasis is a dynamic single rope designed for lead climbing indoors. Manufacturer reference 71281 identifies this version, developed for regular climbing-gym use. Choose the available rope length to suit your climbing venue and the routes you intend to climb.

Its polyester sheath is designed for high abrasion resistance. The braided construction creates a compact, smooth surface. Thermo Shield treatment supports supple handling, while 3D Lapcoiling makes unpacking the rope for its first use easier. The rope combines polyester and polyamide and includes a middle marking.

Edelrid specifies a diameter of 9.8 mm, a weight of 68 g per metre and a sheath proportion of 41%. Further technical figures are an impact force of 8.8 kN, 32% dynamic elongation, 5.5% static elongation and seven standard test falls. The test-fall figure is a laboratory result, not an allowed number of falls during use. The single rope is certified to EN 892.

Edelrid states that this model is unsuitable for permanent fixed top-rope installations. Before use, read the instructions and check your belay device’s approved rope types and diameters. Inspect the rope before and after climbing. Store it cool, dry and away from daylight, chemicals and crushing loads. Stop using it if there is any doubt about its condition or safety.
