Make the tire faster or more durable, and its grip decreases.
with Continental's Black Chili Compound, a tread mix that is always based on the latest findings in polymer and raw material research, they have delivered a lasting solution to the cycling scene.
Depending on a tire's intended use, they fine-tune the recipe specifically—whether for road bikes or mountain bikes, time trials, or downhill.
For Black Chili they refine special synthetic rubbers with proven natural rubber into particularly efficient tread compounds.
They then add carbon particles to these compounds, optimized in shape and surface properties.
