Black Diamond Transfer LT envy green 2021 2022

The Black Diamond Transfer LT is a packable avalanche shovel for ski touring and other winter backcountry trips. Its two-piece telescopic shaft connects to a riveted blade made from 7075 aluminium. The manufacturer specifies a weight of 405 g, making it a compact part of a touring emergency kit. This Envy Green version has an ergonomic handle for working with both hands.

The blade has a surface area of 550 cm². Its removable shaft collapses for packing, with a stated collapsed length of 56 cm. Assemble and extend the shovel fully before use. Before each trip, check the locking mechanisms and make sure that every component can be reached quickly inside your pack. Keeping the parts together in a dedicated compartment helps you organise your equipment.

The Transfer LT is UIAA certified. Carry an avalanche shovel alongside a transceiver and probe as part of your personal rescue equipment. Effective use requires practical training and coordinated action within your group. Equipment does not replace avalanche knowledge or careful route planning. Practise assembling and using the shovel in a safe setting, and remove snow and moisture from its components before storing it after a tour.
