La Sportiva Katana electric blue lime punch

The La Sportiva Katana in Electric Blue/Lime Punch is a versatile climbing shoe with two opposing hook-and-loop straps. The straps let you adjust the volume around the foot quickly. Version 40J634729 combines a precise toe area with a construction intended to provide support on small footholds and a direct feel for the rock.

The upper combines suede leather and microfibre. Inside, Dentex lines the heel and Pacific the forefoot. A full-length 1.1 mm LaSpoFlex midsole works with the P3 system, designed to help maintain the shoe’s shape over extended use. The outsole uses 4 mm Vibram XS Edge rubber.

The Katana can be used across different styles of sport climbing, from wall training to technical rock routes. Choosing a size that suits your foot shape remains essential. Try both shoes and check the heel hold and access to the straps. The shoe should feel secure without needing excessive tightening to force a fit.

As general care guidance, let the shoes air and dry thoroughly after each session. Remove dust and dirt gently and avoid direct heater warmth. Inspect the rubber outsole regularly for wear. Resoling is available through La Sportiva-approved specialists; whether it is suitable depends on the condition of the shoe.
