Edelrid HMS Strike Screw Oasis

The Edelrid HMS Strike Screw in Oasis is an asymmetric aluminium HMS carabiner with a manually operated screwgate. Its shape provides space for use with a suitable belay device or an appropriate knot. The H-profile construction combines a slim body with areas that are easy to handle. A Keylock closure avoids a projecting nose that could catch equipment when clipping or unclipping.

The Screw system must be locked by hand. Closing the gate alone does not automatically lock the carabiner. Before loading it, check that the screw sleeve is fully in its intended locked position. Use the carabiner along its major axis with the gate closed. Avoid cross-loading and pressure against the gate. The correct connection depends on the instructions for every component in your system and the belaying techniques you have learned.

The green finish helps you identify the carabiner among other equipment. Before each use, inspect the body, gate and sleeve for damage and check that they move correctly. Dirt can interfere with the closure. Follow Edelrid's instructions for cleaning, maintenance and retirement. Store the carabiner dry for transport and keep it away from aggressive substances and sharp tools.
