Edelrid HMS Bulletproof Screw, slate

The Edelrid HMS Bulletproof Screw in Slate combines an aluminium body with a steel insert at the upper apex. This contact surface is designed for the area where a rope or connecting component runs over the carabiner. The steel helps reduce wear compared with an all-aluminium surface. Its HMS shape is intended for suitable climbing belay applications; always check compatibility with the particular belay device and its instructions.

The locking sleeve is closed manually. A Keylock nose makes clipping and unclipping easier by avoiding a projecting hook. The H-profile construction reduces the amount of material in the aluminium body. For model reference 73725, Edelrid specifies a weight of 82 g, a length of 110 mm and a gate opening of 24 mm. This version has a screwgate and no additional wire keeper for positioning it on a harness.

Before every use, inspect the body, steel insert, gate and locking sleeve for damage, wear and correct operation. The locking sleeve must be fully closed. Follow the markings on the supplied carabiner and its accompanying manufacturer instructions for permissible loading and use. The steel insert does not replace these checks.

Clean and maintain the carabiner according to Edelrid's instructions and store it dry. Retire damaged equipment or a carabiner that no longer closes reliably. Slate is the grey finish offered here.
