Edelrid HMS Bullet PermaLock silver

The silver Edelrid HMS Bullet PermaLock is an HMS carabiner with a screw gate and an additional locking mechanism for the sleeve. It is intended for climbing applications that require a suitable locking connector. Its broad HMS shape provides room for the intended rope arrangement. Compatibility with your belay device and chosen application must be checked against the instructions for all equipment involved.

The PermaLock system uses an integrated pressure lock to block the tightened sleeve against unintended unscrewing. To open it, press the lock and then turn the screw sleeve. A red indicator shows when the gate is not fully closed. The Keylock nose helps with clipping and unclipping, while the H-profile construction limits material use and weight. The aluminium carabiner is 110 millimetres long and 75 millimetres wide, with a gate opening of 24 millimetres.

Edelrid specifies breaking strengths of 26 kilonewtons on the major axis, ten across the minor axis and nine with the gate open, together with EN 12275 and EN 362. These figures are not working-load ratings. Before each use, inspect the body, gate and locking mechanism. Load it only in the orientation intended for the application. Check that it is fully closed after clipping: PermaLock does not replace this check. Clean and store the carabiner as described in the manufacturer's instructions.
