DMM 30kN Boa HMS Screwgate

The DMM 30kN Boa HMS Screwgate is a large HMS carabiner with a manually operated screw lock. Reference A902 identifies the Titanium version with a contrasting locking sleeve. Its spacious connection area accommodates multiple suitable ropes or slings. Selection must take account of compatibility with the complete equipment system.

DMM specifies dimensions of 83 × 122 mm, a weight of 95 g and a gate opening of 24 mm. Stated minimum breaking strengths are 30 kN along the major axis, 12 kN across the minor axis and 9 kN with the gate open. These technical ratings are not a universal working-load allowance for an entire belaying or rescue system. Observe the markings and instructions on the particular product.

Close and secure the screw sleeve according to the manufacturer's instructions, checking its function before use. Maintain the intended orientation and avoid unintended loading arrangements. Operation requires appropriate training and equipment suited to the application. Inspect the carabiner and closure regularly for damage, deformation and excessive wear. Seek competent assessment if its condition is uncertain. Clean and maintain it according to DMM guidance, allow it to dry and store it away from unsuitable chemicals and mechanical damage.
