The Cane Creek 110 Tapered Short is a complete integrated headset for a compatible bicycle frame and tapered fork steerer. This black version, manufacturer reference BAA0768K, has the S.H.I.S. specification IS41/28.6 at the top and IS52/40 at the bottom. Short identifies the lower-height upper cover. Other EC, ZS and IS versions in the 110 range have different dimensions.

The 110 range uses machined 7075-T6 aluminium and sealed stainless-steel bearings. The upper cover houses a low-friction seal, with a double-lip seal at the crown race completing the construction. The short IS cover has a 9 mm upper stack height, and the lower assembly has a 1 mm stack height. The design is compatible with Interlok spacers. Bearing seats, fork steerer and crown-race seat must all match the chosen headset.

Compare the full system dimensions with the frame and fork specifications before buying. A similar product name alone does not establish compatibility. Have fitting and bearing preload adjusted correctly. Steering should move freely without perceptible play. Clean around the seals gently, and check the complete connection between headset, spacers and stem after maintenance.
