PRIMUS Ignition Steel - Large

The Primus Ignition Steel Large is a fire steel for camping, trekking and outdoor equipment. Drawing the supplied scraper along the steel produces sparks. These can ignite suitable tinder or light a compatible stove when used according to its instructions. Select the desired colour from the available variants. Photographs showing several colours illustrate the choices and do not indicate that all colours are supplied together as one set.

A bio-based plastic case protects the steel, while a reflective cord holds the parts together and helps make them easier to find. Spark generation does not require a built-in battery. Dry a wet steel before use where appropriate, and prepare suitable tinder for the actual ignition. Practise handling the scraper, steel and tinder in a suitable place before a trip so that you understand the movement and can direct the sparks where they are needed.

Observe local fire restrictions and use the tool only where lighting a fire is permitted. Keep clear of flammable objects and aim sparks at the prepared tinder. When using a stove, also follow its ignition and safety instructions. Store the steel and scraper dry and protected after use, inspect the connecting cord regularly and keep the tool away from small children.
