Size help
Which pole length do I need?
Alpine, touring, classic and skating need different pole lengths. For adjustable poles, check the usable length range.
A reviewed size recommendation is not yet available for this model. Use the measuring guide to prepare, then ask our team for help choosing.
Check when trying out
- The grip should feel secure in your hand while wearing your gloves.
- For adjustable poles, your working length must stay within the approved range. Follow the manufacturer’s markings and locking instructions.
- Use the separate guidance for classic and skating. Do not apply the alpine elbow check to Nordic poles.
Measure your height and check pole length
- Measure your height without shoes from the floor to the top of your head.
- Compare it with the manufacturer’s guidance for your sport. Packed length is the collapsed length for transport.
- For alpine poles: place the pole vertically and check that your upper and lower arm form roughly a right angle. Use separate sport-specific guidance for Nordic poles.

Description
The Atomic AMT JR in black is a ski pole for children and junior skiers on the piste. Its straight aluminium shaft and grip shaped for smaller hands provide a straightforward setup for days on the slopes. The black version carries manufacturer reference AJ5005780.
Atomic uses 3* Aluminum Pole Technology and an ergonomic, single-component JR grip. The Essential wrist strap is adjustable. Help your child set its width while wearing their ski gloves, checking that both grip and strap feel comfortable. An automatic safety-release mechanism is not specified for this version.
The equipment includes a standard basket measuring 50 mm across and a steel tip. The basket limits how far the pole sinks into snow. This is a fixed-length model; the versions offered here range from 85 to 105 cm. Choose the appropriate length before buying, as it cannot subsequently be altered using a telescopic adjustment.
Check the pole length while wearing ski boots and gloves, taking your child’s height, skiing technique and ski school advice into account. Before use, inspect the shaft, grip, strap and basket for damage or loose parts. Remove snow and moisture after skiing and allow the poles to dry before putting them away.
