KOHLA Active BASIC 120mm

The KOHLA Active BASIC is a 120 mm wide trim-to-fit skin for getting started in ski touring and for tours on pistes or in easier terrain. Its plush combines 65% mohair with 35% synthetic fibre to balance glide, uphill grip and resistance to wear. A traditional cotton backing supports the skin, and this version uses a hot-melt adhesive on the ski-facing side.

Hot-melt is a conventional adhesive coating rather than a glue-free attachment system. A clean, reasonably dry ski base and a well-maintained adhesive surface are important for adhesion. Choose a length and tip-and-tail attachments that suit your ski. The 120 mm width is then trimmed to the ski sidecut. Leave the steel edges exposed during trimming, and ask for help if you are unfamiliar with the procedure.

A fluorine-free impregnation helps reduce water uptake in the plush. Before each tour, check the adhesive, skin and attachment components. Afterwards, remove snow and let the skins dry in a ventilated place without direct heat from a radiator. Follow KOHLA’s instructions for folding, protective layers and storage so that the adhesive stays clean.

In-stock items usually ship from our warehouse within 1 to 3 working days. If the item is in stock in one of our stores, you can also pick it up there free of charge. In Pfronten this also works for items that are only in stock in Ronsberg: we bring them over, which usually takes 2 to 4 days.
