One rope, three standards!
The SWIFT 48 ECO DRY is a single, half and twin rope in one and, at 8.9 mm in diameter, one of the thinnest single ropes on the market.
Eco Dry stands for our PFC- and PFAS-free finish, which ensures permanently dirt- and water-repellent properties.
Thanks to being made on a braiding machine with 48 bobbins, the SWIFT 48 ECO DRY has a particularly fine sheath structure with very pleasant handling and is at the same time very abrasion-resistant.

Thermo Shield
Thermo Shield is the basic finish with which we treat all ropes to guarantee the proven suppleness of EDELRID ropes.
This finish is a thermal process through which core and sheath yarns are perfectly matched to each other.
Through a special heat treatment, the fibres in the rope relax and shrink out.
This harmonises the sliding properties of the yarns within the rope, and the rope becomes supple and compact.
This produces ropes that neither shrink further nor quickly become stiff.

3D Lap Coil
In combination with the well-thought-out packaging design, it is now child's play to start climbing straight away with the new rope.
That is because it can be pulled out very easily.
The marking on the rope and the detailed description on the packaging make pulling it out even easier, so that the rope can be used immediately without annoying twisting and tangling.

Eco Dry
Per- and polyfluorinated chemicals (PFC), and in particular the subcategory PFAS, make outdoor equipment resistant to oil, grease and water.
Once released into the environment, however, these chemicals break down only very slowly and thus pose a long-term environmental problem.
With the Eco Dry finishing technology, we have succeeded in developing a process that is almost on a par with high-performance PFC and PFAS.
Because of their three-dimensional kernmantle construction, the treatment process for ropes is very complex.
After all, the finishing process must never compromise the safety and functionality of a climbing rope.
The Eco Dry process meets all these requirements and is 100 % free of PFC or even PFAS.
The world's first PFC- and PFAS-free rope that at the same time meets the UIAA Water-Repellent Standard is the EDELRID Swift Eco Dry 8.9 mm.
It absorbs less than 1 to 2 % of its own weight in water.
It is also bluesign® certified and, with the Pro Dry line, offers comparable values in terms of durability, abrasion resistance and water and dirt resistance.
