Opinel No°7 "Mein erstes Opinel" blau

My first Opinel is the ideal companion for forest walks and crafting.
Designed especially for children, this knife has an 8 cm long blade with a rounded point and a colorful handle that's protected against stains and moisture.
The safety ring allows you to lock the blade whether the knife is open or closed.
A wonderful childhood memory.

Blade with round tip
The blade tip is rounded to provide maximum safety when using.
It's also the ideal blade for spreading.

Handle
White beechwood comes from French forestry.
It's a white wood with little grain, which is ideal for applying colors without distorting them.
The handle is varnished for better protection against moisture and dirt.

Sandvik stainless steel 12C27
Modified Sandvik stainless steel 12C27 was adjusted for Opinel and is known for its sharpness and easy maintenance.
The stainless steel underwent a heat treatment called martensite, giving it a very high lifespan.
The carbon content is at least 0.40%, achieving very satisfactory sharpness while not creating corrosion sensitivity.
Blade hardness 57-59 HRC.

Safety ring
The Virobloc safety ring was invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel.
It is present on all folding knives from model N°06 onwards.
The Virobloc is cut from stainless steel and consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part.
In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safe use), it's now also possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safe transport).

Blade length: 8 cm (with rounded point)
Weight: 36g

Blade material: stainless steel 12C27
Handle material: white beech
