Sea to Summit Nylon Tarp Poncho

The Sea to Summit Nylon Tarp Poncho combines pull-on rain protection with the option to create a simple tarp shelter. Its generous shape accommodates a backpack. Coated 70D nylon and taped seams provide the rain-protection construction, while a three-panel hood with a broad brim extends coverage around the head.

Laid flat, the fabric measures approximately 253 × 137 cm and can form a small overhead shelter. Tarp use requires suitable attachment points and a setup appropriate to the conditions. This makes the poncho a practical option for walkers seeking one flexible item for wearing and for sheltering during a break. The coated nylon itself is not breathable; ventilation comes from the open shape instead.

When trying it on, check freedom of movement with your loaded backpack. The loose fabric can flap in wind, so take the weather into account when planning your route. Avoid thorns, sharp rock edges and hot objects. Dry the poncho thoroughly before prolonged storage and inspect the fabric and seam tape regularly. Clean it gently according to the manufacturer's instructions. Pack it where it can be reached easily when rain starts, rather than underneath all your other equipment.
