Selection and use

First check that the frame has appropriate cage mounts and enough room to insert and remove a bottle. Test it with the bottle you intend to use: it should be easy to grip while remaining securely held. Pay particular attention to clearance on smaller frames or when carrying additional bags. Follow the frame and cage manufacturers’ mounting and torque instructions when fitting it.

Care and checks

Clean dirt from the cage and bottle regularly to keep their contact surfaces clear. Check the mounting and elastic insert before longer rides. Have a damaged cage or worn insert assessed appropriately. Avoid tightening bolts without the relevant specification, particularly on sensitive frames, so the installation remains suitable for your actual equipment.
