Merrell Speedarc Matis Men white sage

The Merrell Speedarc Matis Men in White Sage combines a low-cut hiking shoe with a distinctive cushioning platform. Manufacturer reference J00003497 identifies this light colourway with green accents. It is designed for men looking for a sporty shoe with a breathable upper for walks, fast-paced hikes and everyday use. Mesh and TPU reinforcements form the upper.

The two-part FloatPro midsole cushions each step. The FlexPlate between its layers supports torsional rigidity and lateral stability while allowing forefoot flexibility. A moulded TPU heel counter adds support, and a padded collar surrounds the ankle. The Vibram Megagrip rubber outsole has 3 mm lugs for varied surfaces. A removable EVA footbed makes it easier to open up the interior for drying.

Merrell uses fully recycled material for the mesh lining and footbed cover, while the laces contain 60 percent recycled material. A Cleansport NXT treatment helps control odour. Choose your size by trying both shoes with the socks you intend to wear. Check heel security and room ahead of the toes when rolling through a step and walking downhill before planning a longer outing.

After use, remove loose dirt with a soft brush and clean marked areas gently. Take out the footbeds and allow the shoes and insoles to dry at room temperature, away from direct radiator heat. Inspect the tread regularly and adjust your pace and steps on wet stones, roots or loose ground. Even a grippy outsole still requires careful foot placement on these surfaces.
