Merrell Speedarc Matis Men comet

The men's Merrell SpeedArc Matis in Comet combines a hiking construction with a sporty low-cut shape. It is suited to brisk walks, hikes and everyday journeys, including travel. Merrell positions the model for moderate trails with occasional obstacles, changes of direction and changes in elevation.

Breathable mesh uppers are reinforced with TPU. A padded collar and moulded TPU heel counter complement the fit, which can be adjusted with the laces. The EVA foam footbed is removable. Mesh lining and a mesh footbed cover support ventilation, while a Cleansport NXT treatment is used for odour control.

A two-part FloatPro foam midsole supplies cushioning. The integrated FlexPlate combines torsional rigidity and lateral stability with flexibility through the forefoot. Beneath it sits a Vibram MegaGrip rubber outsole developed for use on wet and dry surfaces. Assess the tread and the conditions on your planned route when choosing footwear for a particular outing.

Try the shoes with your walking socks and check heel security and room for the toes, including when moving downhill. Remove dirt after a walk and let the shoes dry in accordance with Merrell's care instructions. Inspect the outsole regularly for wear, especially if you frequently move between paved surfaces and trails.
