Selection and use

Before replacement, check the handlebar and steerer diameters and the available clamping length on the steerer. Vb3 stems are offered with different handlebar clamps; these are separate versions rather than an interchangeable adjustment. Align the handlebar after installation and inspect the adjustable joint. Changing the angle can also affect brake hose and gear cable routing, so check that the steering moves freely in both directions.

Care and checks

Remove dirt gently with a suitable mild cleaner and dry the component afterwards. Regularly inspect fastenings and stressed areas for looseness, wear or damage. Recheck operation after a fall or a substantial impact. Follow the instructions for the component and bicycle when installing, adjusting and maintaining it.
