The Swix T825D is a 5 mm plexi scraper for removing excess glide wax. It forms part of your base-preparation equipment and is used after hot waxing. A well-maintained, sharp working edge helps remove the wax layer evenly.

Scraping and maintaining the edge

Allow the base to cool after ironing in the wax. Then use the scraper's working edge to remove the excess wax layer. Brushing the base structure follows as a separate step after scraping.

Check the scraper edge regularly: Swix stresses that a sharp scraper makes the work easier. The manufacturer lists T0408, T410 and T412-220 as sharpening tools. Remove wax residue after use and store the scraper with its working edge protected, leaving it ready for your next preparation session. Throughout the process, follow the care guidance for your skis or snowboard and the application instructions for the wax you are using.
