Description
TYPE A SPEED
The new Powderequipment Type A Speed is the ascent-oriented variant of the Type A, which has proven reliable over many years. The development goal was an extremely lightweight and specialized touring ski without compromises on stability.
An elaborate and stable carbon-sandwich construction forms the base.
Additionally, the Type A Speed features two completely new Powderequipment developments for the first time as standard:
the PWDR Stringer-Sandwich sidewall and the PWDR specialdivergence tailoring line.
The Type A Speed impresses with an extraordinarily broad range of uses for this ski category.
It ascends very well, has grip on icy traverses and extreme steep terrain, and for an 80mm-wide ski is exceptionally easy to control on descent even in difficult snow conditions.
Safety and a high fun factor convince!
Technical data:
| Length | Weight | Dimensions | Radius |
| 165cm | 1.00 kg | 108/80/90 | 21m - 50m |
| 172cm | 1.15 kg | 110/80/92 | 21m - 50m |
Construction:
- Elaborate sandwich construction for the lowest weight with full stability
- Tip to tail ultra-lightweight wood core with PWDRfibre binding insert
- Extremely light and stable PWDR Stringer-Sandwich sidewall:
- PWDR specialdivergence tailoring line 21 m - 50 m
- Upper and lower band made of bi- or tri-axial carbon
- Extremely robust and durable steel edges 1.8 mm
- Ultralight cap film
- With tip rocker and high-strength aluminum end protector
Facts:
The high-pressure impregnated, 25-fold laminated PWDR Stringer-Sandwich sidewall is a load-bearing element of the ski.
It combines maximum stability with best edge force transmission in one component and eliminates the need for an ABS side wall.
The newly designed PWDR specialdivergence tailoring line combines different radii depending on the intended use of the ski.
In the Type A Speed, the combination of radii from 21m in the ski center to 50m towards front and back delivers optimal properties in ascent and descent.
Intended use:
- demanding ski tours and traverses,
- expeditions,
- fast and/or energy-efficient ascents in terrain and on-piste.
