Swiss made
Since 1935, Stöckli has stood for Swiss ski making. The same rigour shapes the factory in Malters and the road to the big race courses.
In Malters, every Stöckli ski is built in more than 140 work steps. Craftsmanship and modern manufacturing mesh precisely.
Stöckli's journey in the Swiss-Ski Pool began in 1994. In 1996, Urs Kälin took the first World Cup win. Racing experience still flows into development today.
The Stöckli NELA 93 is the wider, deep-snow-oriented ski from Stöckli's NELA women's series: for women skiers who specifically seek off-piste descents and powder snow without wallowing on the piste.
With a 93 mm waist width, the NELA 93 is designed to be clearly wider than the piste-oriented NELA 86 and is aimed at women skiers who regularly head off the groomed piste. Rocker at the tip and tail (Powder Rocker with Freeride Tail) provides float in soft snow and a light-footed, playful feel, while the light core construction ensures that the ski does not tire you out even on long ski-touring days in the terrain.
| Waist width | 93 mm |
|---|---|
| Sidecut | 117 - 93 - 138 mm (according to topsheet print) |
| Lengths | 156 / 163 / 170 cm |
| Radius | approx. 14.2 m at the shortest length, increasing to approx. 15.8 / 17.7 m on the longer models |
| Rocker | Powder Rocker with Tail Rocker (Freeride Tail) |
| Core | Light Core: light European woods in a sandwich construction |
| Edge | SME Light, lightweight metal edge |
| Base | Racing Graphite |
| Titanal | Titanal Technology PRO |
| Powder Rocker | A rise at the tip and tail that starts clearly earlier than on a classic piste ski. It provides noticeable float as soon as the snow gets softer, without completely sacrificing edge grip on the piste. |
|---|---|
| Tail Rocker / Freeride Tail (TR) | An extended, flatter rocker in the ski end makes it easier to finish turns in deep or uneven snow and makes the ski more forgiving when you sit back. |
| Light Core (LC) | Light sandwich core made from selected European woods, which reduces swing weight and, despite the wider waist, provides dynamic responsiveness. |
| Softflex (SF) | The individual laminate layers are thinner or partly made from lighter materials, which gives the ski a softer flex characteristic and makes it skiable with less effort. |
| SME Light | Slim, weight-optimised metal edge that sits less deeply in the ski than a standard edge. This saves weight and at the same time allows more re-sharpening passes over the life of the ski. |
| POLYWALL (PWA) | Slightly softer, more elastic sidewall material than a classic phenolic sidewall. It dampens vibrations and makes the ski more good-natured in changing, ungroomed snow. |
| Freeride Tip Technology (FTT) | Light, stiff insert material in the tip area that provides extra float as soon as the ski dives deep into soft snow. |
| Titanal Technology PRO | A classic cover layer over the Titanal layer is dispensed with. Instead, the top Titanal layer is powder-coated directly. This saves build height and weight without reducing torsional stability. |
The NELA 93 combines a light sandwich core of European woods (Light Core) with thinner laminate layers (Softflex) and Titanal Technology PRO. This keeps weight low without giving up stability and edge grip when conditions get hard or changeable. Powder Rocker and Freeride Tail provide float and a playful, easy-to-control feel in deep snow, while the 93 mm waist still delivers enough edge grip for stretches on the groomed piste. Overall a ski that is clearly designed more towards off-piste and powder than the narrower NELA 86, yet thanks to its light construction is not bulky or tiring to ski.
The NELA 93 is aimed at women skiers who specifically seek off-piste descents, ungroomed slopes and powder snow and want a ski that still leads well back to the ski area on the piste. Thanks to its lightweight construction, it is also suitable for longer days off the piste where weight and fatigue play a role. If you mainly ski on groomed piste and only occasionally brush the edge of the piste, you are better served by the narrower, more agile NELA 86 from the same series.
