Swiss made
Since 1935, Stöckli has stood for Swiss ski making. The same rigour shapes the factory in Malters and the road to the big race courses.
In Malters, every Stöckli ski is built in more than 140 work steps. Craftsmanship and modern manufacturing mesh precisely.
Stöckli's journey in the Swiss-Ski Pool began in 1994. In 1996, Urs Kälin took the first World Cup win. Racing experience still flows into development today.
The Stöckli Montero AR Pro is the stiffest and sportiest model of the Montero series: an all-mountain ski with racing DNA for skiers who demand full edge grip and maximum precision even at high speed and on changeable snow.
In elegant silver/white with the prints "Montero AR PRO" and "FLEX TORSION CONTROL", the AR Pro visibly shows its racing origins: it takes over the hard, carbon-reinforced sidewalls (RSB - Racing Sidewalls Black) from Stöckli's race skis for more direct power transmission, as well as a World Cup race base with a high graphite content for extra glide. As on the rest of the Montero line-up, S-shaped cut-outs in the Titanal at the tip and tail (FTC - Flex Torsion Control) provide a slightly softer flex at the ends, while the middle of the ski under the binding stays uncompromisingly stiff and torsionally stable.
| Waist width | 84 mm |
|---|---|
| Sidecut | approx. 126 - 84 - 114 mm |
| Lengths | 165 / 170 / 175 / 180 / 185 cm |
| Radius | 14.2-18.4 m, depending on length (175 cm: 16.3 m) |
| Rocker | AMR tip rocker + tail rocker, camber under the binding (RCR profile) |
| Core | Poplar/beech wood core (All Mountain Core), two Titanal layers |
| Sidewalls | RSB - Racing Sidewalls Black, carbon-reinforced phenolic resin |
| Edge | SME Light, lightweight metal edge |
| Base | World-Cup Race Base with high graphite content |
| Surface | Polyamide topsheet, silver/white with race-ski look |
| Factory tuning | 1.5° base / 2.0° side |
| Torsion control | FTC - Flex Torsion Control |
| RCR | Rocker-Camber-Rocker: the ski's basic profile, with rocker at the tip and tail and camber under the binding for edge pressure and drive from the middle. |
|---|---|
| AMR | All Mountain Rocker: a gently rising tip that gives the ski a little more float off the piste without diminishing its edge performance on hard snow. |
| Tail Rocker (TR) | An extended, flatter rocker in the ski tail makes it easier to finish turns and takes pressure off the edge towards the end of the turn. |
| FTC | Flex Torsion Control: S-shaped cut-outs in the Titanal at the tip and tail that allow a softer flex there. The middle of the ski under the binding stays torsionally stiff, which ensures precise edge grip at high speed. |
| RSB | Racing Sidewalls Black: harder, carbon-reinforced phenolic resin sidewalls from Stöckli's race ski range. They transmit pressure to the edge more directly and are the main reason for the AR Pro's stiffer, more direct character compared with the Montero AR. |
| SME Light | Slim, weight-optimised metal edge that provides edge grip while keeping the overall weight of the ski low. |
The Montero AR Pro shares its core construction and rocker profile with the Montero AR but goes a clear step further in stiffness: the hard RSB sidewalls from Stöckli's race ski production provide more direct power transmission and more torsional rigidity, the World Cup race base adds speed, and the factory race tuning (1.5°/2.0°) comes closer from the outset to what is otherwise only used on Stöckli's race skis. In combination with an 84 mm waist width and a radius of around 16 m at medium length, the result is a ski that stays uncompromisingly calm at high speed and on hard, changeable snow, but also wants to be skied actively and with a clear edge.
The Montero AR Pro is aimed at strong, aggressive all-mountain carvers with a racing background who are looking for a ski that offers race-ski-like grip and smooth running every day. It demands an active, skilled skiing style and is not the right choice for skiers of intermediate level or for those who prioritise deep snow. If you want full control and precision on the edge and are prepared to drive the ski accordingly, you will find the top model of the Montero series in the AR Pro.
